Our Mission

We are committed to raising awareness, challenging misconceptions, and advocating for better healthcare and support systems for Sickle Cell warriors, particularly in African communities. We believe that knowledge is power, and through education, outreach, and advocacy, we strive to create a world where Sickle Cell Disease is understood—not feared.

Empowering Lives and Advocating for a Healthier Future!

We strive to empower individuals living with SCD to take control of their health, advocate for their needs, and live full, vibrant lives. We believe in fostering resilience, promoting self-care, and celebrating the strength of the sickle cell community.

Make Life-Saving Medications Affordable/Free

No one should have to choose between life-saving medication and basic needs. We’re fighting for a future where all Sickle Cell Warriors have access to the treatments they deserve, regardless of cost.

Sickle Cell Warriors

Beyond the diagnosis. We are breaking the stigma surrounding Sickle Cell Disease and empowering warriors to live beyond limitations.

75% Childhood Mortality: A Changed Reality

In the past, many children with Sickle Cell Disease did not survive past childhood. In 1973, the average life expectancy for individuals with SCD in the US was only 14 years.

The introduction of newborn screening, prophylactic penicillin, and comprehensive care programs has dramatically improved survival rates, especially in high-resource settings. However, significant disparities in outcomes persist globally, particularly in low-resource settings where access to care remains limited.

Focusing on Current Survival and Life Expectancy
Today, thanks to advancements in treatment and care, individuals with Sickle Cell Disease in high-income countries are living longer than ever before.

It is estimated that 50-80% of children born with SCD in Africa will die before the age of five.

Take Action

Big goals are achieved in small steps. Our Empower Sickle Cell Movement is organized in a way that allows everyone to participate.

Make Life-Saving Medications Affordable

The cost of sickle cell treatments remains a barrier for many families, forcing patients to forgo essential care. No one should have to choose between their health and financial stability. Sign our petition demanding pharmaceutical companies and policymakers reduce the cost of medications like hydroxyurea and ensure that treatments are accessible to all. Affordable care is a right, not a privilege.
